ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES
April 5, 2006
The Annual Meeting of the METROEAST CHAPTER OF CREDIT UNIONS was called to order by Chairperson Roger Quitter at 7:20 pm on April 5, 2006 at the Gazebo, Warren, MI.
Roll Call:
Secretary James Safian conducted a roll call of the credit unions represented.The following credit unions were represented.

A quorum of credit unions were present.
Approval of Previous Annual Meeting Minutes:
The minutes of the previous Annual Meeting held on April 6, 2005 were distributed and approved on a motion by Nathan Vinson and supported by Dennis Moriarity.
Elections:
The Nominating Committee consisted of Jill Trebilcock, Chairperson, and members Larry Philippi from LEO XIII and David Rauch from Tandem.

Executive Committee:

Martin Carter, EVP/COO, Research FCU
Bonny Bileti, President/CEO, East Detroit Schools CU
Nathan Vinson, Board Chairman, Motor City First FCU
Gail Hernalsteen, Marketing Manager, Motor City Co-op CU
Lisa Pionk, COO, Michigan Schools and Government CUare candidates for the six, two-year term, executive committee positions.All candidates had previously accepted their nominations.Jill Trebilcock asked for additional nominations from the floor three times.No new nomination was made.A motion to close the nominations for the executive committee was made by Dennis Moriarity and supported by Frances Pierce.Motion carried.All six candidates were elected to the executive committee by acclamation.
Alternate Delegate to the MCUL AC & E:
Nominating Committee Chairperson, Jill Trebilcock, advised the members thatMartin Carter, COO Research FCU
is the sole candidate for this position.Martin had previously accepted his nomination.Jill Trebilcock asked for additional nominations from the floor three times.No new nomination was made.A motion to close the nominations for the Alternate Delegate to the MCUL AC & E was made by Dennis Moriarity and supported by Drema Isaac.Motion carried.Martin Carter was elected as an Alternate Delegate to the MCUL AC & E by acclamation.

Legislative Forum Representative and Alternate:

Drema Isaac, President/CEO, Central Macomb CUare the sole candidates for these respective positions.The candidates had previously accepted their nominations.Jill Trebilcock asked for additional nominations from the floor three times.No new nomination was made.A motion to close the nominations for the Legislative Forum Representative and Alternate was made by Dennis Moriarity and supported by Nathan Vinson.Motion carried.The candidates were elected as Legislative Forum Representative and Alternate, respectively, by acclamation.
Committee Reports:
MCUL Cooperative Advertising:
Roger Quitter an overview of the past year and noted that initial 2006 statewide participation is down 25%; Metro East participation is down 20%.Chapter Scholarship:
Lisa Pionk explained that any credit union under $30,000,000 can apply for scholarships.Kramer Homes CU has been awarded $500 for education and planning sessions.March of Dimes WalkAmerica:
Gail Hernalsteen reported that 15 credit unions to date have joined the Metro Beach event to be held on April 30, 2006

Roger Quitter briefly discussed a resolution from the Battle Creek Chapter, regarding the Cooperative Advertising Campaign, mailed to all MCUL member credit union CEOs.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Annual Meeting was adjourned at 7:51 pm on a motion made by Lisa Pionk and seconded by Dennis Moriarity.Motion carried.After the meeting, Eric Gubka made a presentation titled “Staying True to the Credit Union Movement.”
