CHARITY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
April 14, 2009
 

The regular meeting of the CHARITY COMMITTEE of the METRO EAST CHAPTER OF CREDIT UNIONS was called to order by Chairperson Crystal Gracz at 8:40 a.m. on April 14, 2009 at Motor City Co-op Credit Union, Clinton Township, MI. 

COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT:
Crystal Gracz, Gail Hernalsteen, Kathy Figgs, Laura Beauregard, Kate Peters, Kathi Sitek, Becky Reini & Jenny Bulgrien.
 
COMMITTEE MEMBERS EXCUSED:  Barb Pitlik & Aaron Smith

PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:
Motion made by Kathy Figgs and seconded by Laura Beauregard to approve the minutes of February 10, 2009 meeting as is. Motion carried.
 
OLD BUSINESS:
Kids on the Go – Kathy reported the Credit Unions’ totals:
 
Christian Financial   $740.69
Central Macomb   $405.00
Motor City   $751.27
Premier Financial   $216.93
Charity Total $2,113.89
       

There will be an awards night in the early fall ’09 when the program is completed.  

March for Babies-Gail reported that volunteers, give-aways and snacks were ready for the checkpoint at Metro Beach. Jenny reported that Port Huron was also prepared. Checkpoint information will be emailed to volunteers in the next week.
 

NEW BUSINESS:  

Relay for Life-Laura report the Sterling Height event is June 13 & 14. Metro East Chapter is registered as a team and each Credit Union should go online to register individually. The Chapter will be hosting the Survivor Lunch, a Pamper Tent for survivors and Ice Cream Social for caregivers on Saturday afternoon. Lunch is compliments of Abuelo’s Restaurant. The Pamper Tent needs volunteers for massages, manicures and pedicures. Volunteers are also needed for the Ice Cream Social at 4:30 pm on Saturday.   Pledge cards/cut-outs are also available to sell as fund raiser. Contact Laura Beauregard at 586-771-4260 x 22 for more information, additional supplies or if staff can volunteer their time.

ADJOURNMENT:
Motion was made by Laura Beauregard and seconded by Jenny Bulgrien to adjourn this meeting at 9:20 a.m. Motion carried.
