METRO EAST CHAPTER OF CREDIT UNIONS
CHARITY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
October 6, 2009

The regular meeting of the CHARITY COMMITTEE of the METRO EAST CHAPTER OF CREDIT UNIONS was called to order by Chairperson Crystal Gracz at 9:11 a.m. on October 6, 2009 at Motor City Co-op Credit Union, Clinton Township, MI.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT:
Crystal Gracz, Gail Hernalsteen, Laura Beauregard & Ronnie Johnson

COMMITTEE MEMBERS EXCUSED: Barb Pitlik, Aaron Smith, Becky Reini, Jenny Bulgrien, Kathi Sitek & Kathy Figgs

PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:
Motion made by Laura Beauregard and seconded by Ronnie Johnson to approve the minutes of August 18, 2009 meeting as is. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS:

Project Education – Homeless Children & Youth - Crystal Gracz reported that supplies were dropped off at MISD and a check in the amount of $2,413.63 was mailed. Credit Unions that participated received a Certificate of Appreciation from MISD. In prior years, there has been a luncheon at MISD honoring participates. Crystal will forward any information.

Phone Home for the Holidays – Crystal reported that she was contacted by other area Credit Unions regarding this charity. Donations will be collected through October 30th and checks should be made payable to CMCCU-Phone Home Fund and mailed to Crystal Gracz at CMCCU, PO Box 2800, Mt. Clemens, MI 48046

NEW BUSINESS:

Gleaner’s Food Bank-Aaron Smith, the lead for this charity was absent from the meeting due to illness. Crystal will be contacting him. Information will be forthcoming prior to the November 1st kick-off. Support of this charity will continue through end of December.

NEXT MEETING:

2010 Planning Session is Thursday, November 12, 2009-Motor City Co-op Credit Union at 9 am.

Motion was made by Ronnie Johnson and seconded by Laura Beauregard to adjourn this meeting at 9:50 a.m. Motion carried.
