EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
September 7, 2006
The regular meeting of the EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE of the METRO EAST CHAPTER OF CREDIT UNIONS was called to order by Chairperson Roger Quitter at 8:40 AM on September 7, 2006 at Christian Financial CU, Clinton Township, MI.

Roger Quitter, Fran Pierce, Lisa Pionk, Bonny Bileti, Jim Shereda, Jill Trebilcock, Dave Rauch, Martin Carter, Drema Isaac, James Safian, Nate Vinson, Gail Hernalsteen
COMMITTEE MEMBERS EXCUSED:
None; There is currently a vacancy on the committee.

PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:
Motion was made by Fran Pierce and seconded by Jim Shereda to approve the minutes from the Executive Committee Meeting held on August 3, 2006. Motion Carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
The August 2006 Treasurer’s Reports were presented by Fran Pierce. Motion was made by Martin Carter and seconded by Nate Vinson to approve the Treasurer’s Reports as submitted. Motion Carried.
PROGRAM AND EVENTS:
Jill Trebilcock reported that the bowing fundraiser raised $1,726.24 ($2,284 in revenue minus $521.76 in expenses) for Chapter PAC goals; Roger Quitter reported on the golf outing scheduled for September 11, 2006. to date, 128 golfers, 17 hole sponsors and nine corporate sponsors have signed up; The quarterly Chapter meeting is being held on September 20, 2006, see handout; Rex Johnson will be speaking at the Sterling Inn on October 26, 2006. The cost is $125 per person and you must register by September 30, 2006; Michigan Schools and Government CU is hosting the “Rejuvenating Dormant Accounts” education session on November 8, 2006; The MetroEast holiday party is being held at Andiamo Italia on December 7, 2006.
LEGISLATIVE FORUM REPRESENTATIVE:
Jim Shereda reported on the Federal and State PAC fund balances (as of July 31, 2006) and goals – Fed balance stands at $313,470, State balance is at $28,307 Cure balance is at $271,197; GO-TV Get out to Vote is our election campaign slogan.
Michigan CU Brand Campaign:
No report, next meeting is on September 13, 2006.
MCUL REPRESENTATIVE:
No report, Ron Martin not present.
MCUL DIRECTOR:
No report, Vicky McIntosh not present. Martin Carter reported that the sale of the MCUL Offices is progressing as the MCUL wants to move most of their staff to Lansing.
CHAIRMAN’S REPORT:
Roger Quitter reported that the meeting with the Blue Water Chapter to discuss merging has been delayed due to some of the concerns that Blue Water member credit unions have; The November 2, 2006 MetroEast Executive Committee meeting will be a planning session.
OTHER MOTIONS

OLD BUSINESS:
Fran Pierce and Bonnie Bileti will work on a proclamation for Larry Philippi’s credit union career.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Executive Committee vacancy needs to be filled within 90 days. A letter will be sent to all eligible credit unions in October if the Committee decides to fill the vacancy.

October 5, 2006. Michigan Schools and Government CU.
